Meiporul(2009)

I was getting lots of Spam SMS about this movie and the poster of this movie was irritating for me .It read “ Tamil cinemavai mattra vanthirukkum oru thiraipadam “ meaning “ Movie which has come to change tamil cinema “.If you ask me frankly its so rubbish and idiotic to think as such even for publicity .I would definitely agree this movie had a different space but it had nothing new other than the characters because we don’t see any known faces.

Meiporul is a thriller which is shot entirely in USA.Sam( Krish Bala) and Devi (Anusha) are happy couple who live in USA.Things change when Sam meets Rajan who predicts the things through his Extra sensory perception.Rajan tells about Sam’s death ,horrified Rajan starts acting in a different manner.Things unwinds when Sam’s friends brings these things to a different light.

One thing about this movie is that the actors struggle to act and even to spell the dialogues.They act as if they are acting !.It was disturbing through out the movie when you don’t have performance in the movie.Sam’s friend (Narayanan) is the only actor who has give a good performance.I don’t know who selected the characters but seriously when you are looking for a thriller and quality movie these things would disturb you and irritate you .I was told all the actors are first timers !

Movie has some twists but its not a edge of seat thriller which can make you sit glued in the movie.Movie has different treatment and things are similar to the Hollywood script but we don’t expect a U Turn in thrillers any more.A decent racy movie with good performance would have done good job for this movie .Sorry for the director Natty Kumar !

How come this review is totally condradictory to all the raving Press reviews and the others that I hear around here in the U.S.? Well...is this proof enough that the folks back in India cannot understand Hollywood style? I guess some Tamil audience still appreciate kuthu paatu, namitha appearance, obscenity, double meaning dialogues, dumb stories and the list goes on and on.

The acting wasn't all perfect but I liked Meipporul. The suspense was maintained until the end and it really left me thinking about what was real and what wasn't.

@Anonymous,

Its totally contradictory because i didnt want to give a fake review ,

And folks in India can not enjoy some crap stuffs which shows as a thriller and advertising it as the mile stone movie.

U think its a hollywood style movie.Can u breif me whats hollywood style? and one morething its up to the readers decide on the movie,its my opinion abt the movie,

some body can escape with out even a trace after kidnapping governor's kid.Are u kidding here..And the thriller had no substance.

Performance ...One of the worst in the world of cinema.
