Kreedam(2007)

I went for this movie with a open mind, not expecting any thing though I had some biased comments from my friends.Kreedam should have been a Kreedam in Ajith's stardom if some lapses were not there.I am impressed with the attempt Ajith took to give a new dimension.It really had worked for him in many of the scenes.Kreedam directed by Debutant Vijay has arrived in a time slot with Ajith's career needing some thing to prove before his big release Billa 2007.Ajith can have a smile in his face.Atleast this time naturally!!!.

Kreedam is not a pathbreaking story .Its same old Vilain and Hero fierce chase and battles.But there is one dream of a father which gets shattered amidst the battle.Raja Rajan(Rajkiran) wants his son (Shaktivel)Ajith to be a Police officer but he finally ends up murdering Villain for saving his family.

Debutant Vijay had the gift of talented artists for his party like camera -Thiru,Music GV Prakash,Lyrics-Muthukumar,Ajith ,Trisha,Raajkiran,Vivek...what else a debutant can ask for.Director has made a remarkable efforts in making the actors so relaxed for the movie.But he has failed in some parts of the movie.First thing in making a fierce flow in the screenplay .There is no powerful scenes in the movie which can give finite shape to a action sequence.The director had convinced a lot in action sequences.Comedy sequence is horrible.And ofcourse the director had made up the job done after signing Ajith for Hero.Ajith looks fresh but the casual acting is still missing(Apart from climax and interval scene).There is no directors touch in any of his tougher scenes.Ajith’s training scene looks so ordinary and it could have been better.Ajith is yet to deliver his best to Tamil movie in acting department.One character which could have been a bigger is ultimately Raajkirans character.Raj kiran is a legendary actor he can carry any movie in his shoulders like he did in Thavamai Thavamirundhu.But he hasn’t got the right scenes which could bring the greatness in him.
Trisha looks amazingly fresh and over the years she has matured a lot on terms of acting and her bodylanguage.One actor who has done overwhelmingly in this movie should be her. But she does not add any value to the story . There are too much of characters in the movie from Snathanam to Sathyan ,Balasingh all wasted at a strech.Vivek seems to be left alone of the movie handling poor comedy sequence.Santhanam started well but was lost in the movie.
Camera is fresh and the Climax scene in the mines looks gusty and that’s the success of Cinematography .Music is not impressive from G.V.Prakash .One thing which I expected in this movie is Music.After Veyil this is GVPs big release .I had a doubt whether it was a one film wonder after watching the songs. But the rerecording and back ground scores is amazingly along with the movie.

Kreedam has good touching sentiments and actions .But the creeping pace should have been paced up which would have given a real Kreedam in Ajith's Career.But on the whole it’s a good film with some substance it carries other than the plot.Its celeberation for Thala fans after the debacle of Azhvar.
