Expectations from My side

I feel i am watching less movies in my DVD and more in chamber halls. That was one lesser reason to skip the Israeli movie festival too.But some interesting movies are out in the city from the tamil movie Pandi to classic Indiana Jones .I am watching the later one tomorrow and Pandi very next day.I have some lesser collection of unwatched movies in my DVD queue .Some of the interesting movies are releasing this year and as usual the expectations are high for each movie which are about to be mentioned.I am not sure whether expectations are going to work for these movies commercially but as a normal fan this year was a bad year for In theatre experience except for Anjathey. All the other movies had been such a trash and still many more to come. Gautham menon has restarted his Chennaiyil Oru Mazhai Kalam with Trisha.Daniel Balaji is there in the cast as baddy and you can reach to some clue where the movie will be as it is set against the working IT Women.Varanam Ayiram stills are promising

The white sun of the desert (Russian -1970 ) -Russian film festival

After swiping out from the company and rushing to the Russian cultural hall I was determined not to miss a even a single second of this movie.Sitting there I enjoyed a cult classic of Russian movie world.I was surprised to can the movie be made as such with a simple plot. THE WHITE SUN OF THE DESERT is a movie which shattered many things which used to be normal. A soldier of the Red Army named Sukhov Anatoli Kuznetsov has been fighting in the Russian Civil War in Russian Asia for many years. Just as he is about to return home to his wife, Sukhov is chosen to guard and protect the 12 harem(Wives ) of a guerrilla leader Abdulla ( Kakhi Kavsadze ). Abdulla is wanted by the Red Army . Abdullah incidentally left his wives behind alone as it was hindering his force. Sukhov's task proves to be more difficult than he imagined. Sukhov fights against the mighty Abdullah . The movie had the perfect and rare blend of all parts of emotions. The comedy was certainly different were you c

The Chronicles of Narnia is a good watch for many reasons. One among the reason is I am dried with movies which are releasing and failing to keep up the hype. This time I watched the movie with kids who are known to me and their excitement to watch the movie made me exciting as you feel you are a different customer of movie all together. Its been so long I watched movie with kids. A year has passed as the Pevensie children unexpectedly left their beloved world of Narnia. They return back to the world of Narnians when 1300 years have passed in Narnian period.Meanwhile Prince Caspian escapes from his land because of a assassination plan to kill him by his uncle. the Pevensie siblings - Peter (William Moseley), Susan (Anna Popplewell), Edmund (Skandar Keynes) and Lucy (Georgie Henley) and Prince caspian and the whole Narnias fight against Prince’s Uncle to throne him as the King. One thing the kids were biting the nails was the entry of Aslan ,I infact asked what are you expecting and they ju

I skipped many of the movies in the ongoing African film festival ,but I wanted to watch this movie after when I saw the stills of this movie. This movie was screened in Alliance franchise in Nungambakkam ,where the hall was running full for the movie and mostly it was new faces and I was not able to see regulars for this movie. Ali, (Abdelhak Zhayra )Kwita( Mounïm Kbab) Omar(Mustapha Hansali) and Boubker(Hicham Moussoune) are street children. They are bound by an undying friendship despite the difficulties of their daily lives. Ali is killed suddenly in a fight between rival gangs. His three friends now have only one goal: to give him the funeral he deserves. Its one of the rare real movie and it touches your heart for the life the street children live along their city. The real life of the children and their rival gangs fierce attitude are so well brought in to this 120 minutes movie. The truth about the children are shaking but some of the never seen scenes .The movie reminds of City

Citizen X (1995)

Every week I manage watch at least half a dozen movies and nowadays I am not able to write the reviews so promptly as I was doing before. Its because of many factors “new job and frequent personal travel” and so on.Citizen X is one of the movie which I watched two weeks earlier and was not able to write about the movie. But this movie was still in my mind for its way it was moving, particularly some characters in the movie. Citizen X is movie shot in Russia it resembles the mood of the movie Zodiac. Its about a serial killer who kills children and young girls in the woods. Viktor Burakov ( Stephen Rea ) investigates the case where he gets no help from the communist police superiors. Mikhail Fetisov (Donald Sutherland) colonel in the troop remains the only hope for Rea.Frustration builds for Rea as the murder increases day by day.All his efforts are put in vain as the Soviet union refuses to accept a serial killer in Russia.Gorbachev dissolves USSR and things change for Rhea and his new

Kuruvi (2008)

So the biggest movie for Summer next to Dasavatharam has arrived .I managed to get the ticket with my friends and was prompt.Dharani,Vijay ,Vidhyasagar so what can you expect. Its a typical masala movie of Vijay and certainly not of Dharani. The man who gave the unforgettable movie of Vijay's career is not at his best .He is bit confused whether to give a completely new movie or a replica of Gilli. Story line is bit 25-30 years old like Sivanthamann ,Vel (Vijay)a carefree guy flies as a Kurivi(Code name for people who carries goods India to abroad ) to Malaysia to meet the person who owes money to his dad Singamuthu(Mani vannan) .The person is Gotcha who is a mafia in Malaysia.Gotcha rejects Vel’s plea for the money ,so obviously Vel has to stand against him.Devi (Trisha ) falls in love with Vel.Vel takes a Diamond from Gotcha and returns back to India.Gotcha follows him and his sister who came in search of Vel.Vel finds from Gotcha that Singamuthu his father is a slave in Gotcha’s q
