Shawshank Redemption (1994)

By far when I chat with any of friends or others about English movies ,the obvious question I get is Have you seen "Shawshank Redemption"?

I am getting many comments and I have had many grape vine discussions about this and I realise why this is still a great movie to watch.I dontwant to write a review about this movie.One thing for sure for this movie in particular,viewers take different characters as their inspiration.Even relate different characters with them selves.

Read from Wikipedia :This movie did not fair well when it was released because of fierce hit from Forrest Gump,Pulpfiction.But the home DVD segment has brought this movie to this level and still a favourite of many viewers.Lets see this movie in a different angle

The plot is not synonymous with simple but its far from complicated.A Investment banker Andy Dufrenese victimised of murdering his wife gets a life term in ShawsankPrison . A friendship begins after a long term prisoner?!, procures a rock hammer for him, an object he wishes to own in order to pursue a hobby in rock collecting. He goes through a feel of friendship ,sexual harassment and on in the prison.Years roll over and his friend Red is rejected with release every term.One day officers finds Andy missing .They find a path to escape from the Prison through a tunnel dug from his Cell.After some months His friend Red is finally released from prison, he follows the instructions given to him by Andy to find a further note hidden beneath a tree, which eventually leads him to meet Andy on the coast of Mexico

The Shawshank Redemption is , written and directed by Frank Darabont, based on the Stephen King novella, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption The film stars Tim Robbins as Andy Dufresne and Morgan Freeman as Ellis "Red" Redding.


But why this movie inspires many people.Simple but this movie tells you many ways of looking at life .You have the famous saying Get busy living or Get busy dying .
You will feel pity for the Brooks old librarian after getting released from the prison .He never knew the the real world out of prison finally end up hanging himself.You get the real glimpse what this movie is trying to convey .It never makes you feel this is right or Wrong but shows there can be many ways in any form of life.What do you call...the ray of hope exists in any virtual ends,which means there are only virtual end to life and life can go along.

Here Shawsank Prison is like Life where you had to fight to survive ,When you feel you are done with it there is some thing left for you outside.You cant live in any form of closed circle which you call it your own world,Living in it does not make sense for any thing.Your binge does not end when you feel it’s the end. I may differ with this kind of review because I have seen many of my friends telling many views. Some see a hope, some see survival, some see endurance, some see inspiration, some see change some see it as a mere movie. But end of the show you feel some thing has hard struck through the celluloid. Why are we not able to make a movie of such elegance.(This is a long topic to be discussed !!)
I am sure it’s a movie but Its has all constituents to learn and look at things where you hope can be your only tool to fight with.

You can argue Andy’s path was not right in getting the freedom, but the screen plays lets you feel Oh boy he is the Hero. The one thing you will never miss is Andy’s Eyes; You can not read what is behind the veil. At the end you knew what was there behind. When you watch this movie I am certain you will also long and feel empathetic for Reds (Morgan Freeman) release .When he takes the release trial for the final you will evidently see the height of frustration, a man whose plea has been continuously rejected over the years.
Watch this movie in any period of your life you will find what I said above was credible and you will never stop getting inspired of it .
