8 seconds (1994)

When I took this movie from the library I was un aware that the game Bull riding Rodeos had to ride about 8 secs to win the game.I had watched this game in many T.V for a flash shows,but never had the chance of watching it with interest,This is about a bull rider Lane forest (Luke Perry) .The story is based on the life of Lane Frost, 1987 PRCA Bull Riding World Champion and his life. The appreciation from Lane’s Father becomes unachievable for Lane Forest but the victories follow him in terms of world championships and his friend(Stephen Baldwin) stand aside of him losing when he wins who lives and ends his life for the game.

I was expecting some nail biting scenes since it was a based on a game.But from the scene one Lane forest was winning in all the rides he participates and obviously I had a doubt if he wins all the rides and he rides for 8 secs on all the bulls then what next? I was right there should be a romance and there should be a tussle between them.There was a love between him and Red Mitchell Horse rider and they live happily for a while when the movie turns at a instant to be a romantic movie,diverting completely.At that particular moment I felt “ I had wasted a evening “.Because the game is such a fierch game and I feel none were interested to watch a romance on the screen letting away the game and the adventures of Lane Forest.But the movie recovered smartly from the dip when Lane Forest challenges the bull which is undefeated.

8 secs is more in to the life of Lane forest, which irritates totally,It was a usual wavery relationship shown is a uninteresting manner.But it was good that the movie tried to bring some of the good qualities which made Lane forest famous,signing the autographs,interacting with Young cowboys and making the whole Rodeo fans alive .

The final fifteen minutes of the movie when his friend rides the bull after 8 secs to make sure he controls the beast which ended his friends life and to prove a point for his friend touches your senses and had been beautifully shot.You can not define a friendship so beautifully than this with emotions and concern then this.It was stunning that Luke perry and lane forest looks were similar and when there was a clippings of Lane forest’s ride in after the movie it was so exciting to compare the looks.There is no thrilling moments worth to be untold so I was not hesitant to tell the end,but the climax had some thing which erects this average movie to some extent.Apart from good performances and climax the movie failed to satisfy me for the screen play which was mediocre and slow.
