Anantha Thandavam -The original Pirivom Sandhippom

Below is the write up about a movie which I expect so much for this year.The story has been my personal favorite and is based on one of the best Tamil novel which I have read so far.I happened to read the novel Pirivom Santhippom during my college days ,which made me to think aloud about love.Written by Sujatha the story was initially published in Anantha Vikatan in early 80’s.The story of Pirivom Santhippom is of two series first in Tirunelveli second part in America.After eight years I am able to recall each and every characters of the work.This has nothing to do with my memory but with the beauty of the book.The main characters are “Ragupathi and Madumitha “.After reading the book I felt there can not be a sweeter name than Madumitha .Even the name of the particular character while reading the novel will make you feel for Ragupathy.

Ragupathy meets his Ex lover in USA during his stay for his higher studies.Ragupathy avoids her but Madumitha married to a NRI Radhakrishnan @Rad moves guiltless with him.Things change tragically for both of them at the end.The fundamental thing of the novel is the emotions of Ragupathy.The story moves from Ragupathy’s angle of what he thinks about his Dad,his Job search,his higher studies and above all about Madumitha after he was forcibly made to separate from her for no reason.It is one of the best romantic book made in Tamil for the vast traits shown by the characters about life,It does not pact with the inherent thoughts but it takes for a refreshing drive from Tirunelveli to Pittsburgh.

I was not a great fan for Sujatha’s work before reading this ,but after reading this I was stumped for the great level of knowledge he possessed while writing this story.I am still surprised about his description about GRE,GMAT,C,MS DOS during 1980 when India was nascent about it.He is a methodical technocrat and erudite which shows in each and every page in the second part of Pirivom Snathippom.

I always recommend my friends to read this tale, and I was always thinking why Tamil Cinema had missed this striking story till Gandhikrishna.The director who ambitiously took up the project Engineer with ArvindSwamy and Maduri Dixit(The project was diluted due to various reasons ). Chellame made the big stripe of attack for him and Vishal.Now he has teamed up with new comer Sidharth and Tamanna.Tamanna is a good pick for the character Madumitha .The particular character needs to be innocent ,juvenile and of course beautiful.

Sujatha had given less opportunity for the character Madumitha to think and counter, it all happens as per time for her.Madumitha’s character will struggle to react for Ragupathy’s emotions as she can not comprehend what is right or wrong.It some what sounds in the middle of the book “Whether this Madumitha is toy dancing for all tunes” She is ,by all means which comes out only when she realizes that .The name “Pirivom Sandhippom” is missed to Karupalaniappan as he had already registered .Sujatha in Katrathum Petrathum had mentioned nearly one year before that Gandhi Krishna had approached him for the rights.He also had mentioned that he had not decided whether to write the dialogues for it.

Let me hope atleast the plot is not spoiled for the sake of commercialization .Good and great that Sujatha is writing the dialogues and Vairamuthu for songs.Vairamuthu has openly said in an exclusive interview that he had penned the recent best lines for Anandha thandavam..If you happen to get the book ,do read it to expect in celluloid as it is one of the best and upright love stories of Tamil.Many can relate with it .The book begins with a French poetry
