Mungaru Male - (Kannada )(2006)

Yesterday I tried some thing so different.Yesterday was the first attempt to watch a Kannada Movie and it didn’t disappoint me .I think I played the safer game for selecting a commercially hit movie comparatively. I can understand Kannada to a great extent off late as I was in Bangalore for two years .Kannada movies will be a often discussed topic for the guys based out on Bangalore particularly on the Kannada heroes .Funny comments we used to compare with Tamil.Some times I have felt bad for the Kannada viewers also when I see Tamil movies attracting more crowd than Kannada movies in Bangalore. No biased discussion .

Mungaru Male was a sensational hit which broke 73 years of Kannada Movie records .It stars newcomer (He is not a newcomer now with four superhits to his account ) and Sanjana Gandhi. .The movie is about a love of Preetham ( Ganesh ) and Nandini ( Sanjana Gandhi).Preetham falls in love for her when she is already engaged with some one else.Preetham with her mother has arrived to her home for her marriage which he comes to know only after he arrives there.Slowly by the carefree attitude Nandini falls in love with Preetham .At one point when her marriage day arrives Preetham avoids her due to the commitment given to her mother on not disposing the hopes of Nandini’s parents and the movie ends in a different and touching note.

The best thing about this movie is its climax and the character of Devadass by a Rabit.The relevance of the character doesn’t gets mapped till the climax.It might sound silly when it starts but the climax scooped all the credit.Directed by Yograj Bhat the movie in all the shaded resembles the tamil movie Vaseegara but it was entertaining.I am not kidding the movie is a worth watch if you understand little bit of Kannada.

Ganesh was a famous TV star before entering in to movies ,his humour sense and his activities resembles Vijay in Vaseegara but he has given a soulful performance with Sanjana Gandhi.You can not avoid this movie as a usual because technically the movie is also excellent .The movie is shot in beautiful locales of Shakleshpur during the monsoon season and the song “ Mungaru Male “ I cant be with out humming it .The climax at the Jog falls and the love proposing scene at Jog Falls were romantic and it carried a mark on the movie.The characters are normal but its entertaining and it’s a good watch if you happen to attend don’t miss it.Mungare Male means the first rain of the season.
