Arai En 305 il Kadavul (2008)

Simbu devan is back ,this time many things are missing from him and he fails to keep up the expectations !!! Result he puts up an less interesting movie.I am surprised why nowadays directors are so much socially conscious on their movie.Every body wants to put up an message in their movie.Simbudevan gave a impressive debut with his humourous dialogues and screenplay has made up an preaching movie and the plot resembles some what like Jim Carry’s Bruce Almighty .

Rasu(Santhanam ) and Mokkai( Kanja Karuppu ) are the room mates in a mansion.They are unemployed and starve for their day to day life .Rasu loves Mahi (Madu mitha) .Things do not go smooth for both of them as they were asked to vacate the mansion for non-payment of rent.Arnold The God (Prakash Raj ) appears before them and makes them understand many things.One day the duo steals the Galaxy box from the God ,which gives the power to become the God .Prakash Raj becomes a ordinary man and Duo rounds the world and understands many things.The balls lands in the same place from where it left.Preachings,Preachings ,Preachings.

Where is Simbudevan’s Humour.Where is his intelligent screen play which we saw in 23 Pulikesi.Where is his comical dialogues!!!If you expect a laugh riot from Arai en 305 il Kadavul ,Sorry you are mistaken and you have landed in a wrong place.This is a movie which tells you about which is good .which is bad ,What is God and What is superstitious .


Santhanam as Rasu is incredibly good as a unemployed lover boy.His usual trade mark continous flow of dialogues is missing ,and his silent .calm acting impresses .Kanjah Karuppu as usual in his Madurai Style .Prakash Raj fits the role.The role needs a elevated look and actors like Prakash Raj,Nasser can only fit in to it.It would have been a comedy if some other actors did it.Because this role speaks lots about self realisation and credulous behaviour,and it calls for a literate performer rather than a dumb performer and Prakash raj does so beautifully.I was able to compare Morgan Freeman in Bruce Almighty with his white suites and Prakash Raj’s White Kurthas.

The star cast is big and good from Rajesh to M.S.Bhaskar.Madumitha does a duet with Santhanam .Songs can not be rated so high but the song Nangal than Kadavulada fits the mood.

What so ever ,Arai En 305 Kadavul is not a bad movie at all.I strongly say that.But this was not expected from the director and the star cast.I didn’t want to see a preaching movie driving all the way from Anna Nagar to Radhakrishnan Salai.I wanted a comedy movie and I hope every body would have expected the same.The screenplay takes a big travel which was not at all needed ,and it is less interesting with some usual scenes.There is no humour in the movie and I can see Simbudevan was in a urge to show many things and preach many things.He took clues from Lage Raho Munnabhai,Bruce Almighty but missed the crux of both the movies."Humour" .
