Fiction ( Spanish -2006)

Fiction became my first movie to be watched in the Film festival which concluded today. The movie started by 8.00 PM and it was packed auditorium with Oldies and Foreigners mostly. This made me so curious about the movie.

Fiction is about a unforeseen passion between two souls.Alex(Eduard Fernández) is a film maker who comes to his friend Santi's place to write a story .He meets Monica who is the friend of Santi's friend Judith.Monica(Montse Germán) is a violinist who is spending her holidays with Judith.Four of them start for a trekking where Alex and Monica loose their way in the woods. They return home guided by the country side directions. After settling back in their positions Alex and Monica finds a passion being formed between them because of the time spent together.Fiction takes us with out any conclusion but builds the expectations.

The movie is slow paced and it is not the usual kind of movies with any end or characterisation. The movie shows a time period of a week of a man and his activities in a immaculate manner so relaxed and stretched. The camera travels along with the mood of the characters to capture the emotions which are being hidden between Monica and Alex.We expect the thing to happen at many places but it does not happen. As usual both express their love in the climax but in a matured way understanding their commitments as Both are already married.
Alex and Monica search for their atmosphere and place to make their individual creation in the country side and land up doing nothing because of the unknown attraction ,which they both create for themselves.

We will not be able to conclude any thing from their lonely nights or the travel in the woods as they repeatedly speak about their family. Music from the Great masters of Europe as well as today's composers contribute to the intimate atmosphere of the film.Camera and Locales are picture perfect works which marks the quality of the movie.
