Masilamani (2009)

I managed to watch some movies this weekend after some break.I am not very much ok with the movie releases .There had been no Hindi releases and some very ordinary Tamil releases for the past some month.Highly advertised by Sun TV for its home production movie Masilamani arrives this weekend.

Masilamani is Nakul who comes back after the so called hit Kadhalil Vizhunthen with his pair Sunaina as Divya.Masilamani is a remake of Tullatha Manamum Thullum in a lighter way.But the treatment and family space claims it a different movie , ofcourse the title is also different.Divya misunderstands Masilamani as a rouge ,Masilamani is a guy who can not tolerate social crimes and he always finds himself before Divya as a guy who fights in the streets.Masi falls in love with her ,to impress her ,he gets introduced with her family as a Mani and impresses them.Divya meets Mani and lots of drama and usual and expected climax.

Nakul has improved a lot and he needs to work on his pronunciation ,which could get him in to good shape. The chemistry of Nakul and Sunaina has nothing new to offer.Movie looks very ordinary with nothing to offer new or interesting. There are some very usual and mix of scenes which were told in many movie for the past twenty years.

If you have to make a decent collection and attract then book Santhanam. As usual with his funny comments he rocks .He has been doing really good this year with SMS ,Thoranai and now in Masilamani to some extend. He cant save the movie but it’s a relief .M.S Bhaskar puts himself in many get up of Ghajini,Rajini and Kamal to create some fun.

On the whole Masilamani is the old mix in a new name .I don’t how much effect the Sun TV advertisement( The movie release was announced in the SUN NEWS ) would have on the success but as a movie its not a very bad movie but its not worth it .
