Pride(2007)

Some times you get impressed by a mediocre movie when you feel the need for self motivation. One point of time in your life when you would be let down by things,You fight to regain the past pride .You certainly got to have the determination .The movie is all about regaining the Pride of a community through determination.Jim Ellis(Terrence Howard) is a swimmer and he is dropped from the champions meet because of he belongs to a particular community.Ten years later Jim is sent to Philadelphia by City officials to vaccate Philadelphia Department of Recreation. He comes across the teens in the local area ,The former Swimmer Jim Ellis starts a swim team for troubled teens at the Philadelphia Department of Recreation to make them participate in Inter meets. They were dropped as Jim was dropped. The movie ends how Philadelphia Department Recreation wins and earns its pride by winning the meet.

Terence Howards lifts the movie with his tiring view and honesty. He gives the charisma to the movie which holds with it.He is inspiring but sadly his words are not written to suit his body language. What inspires in this movie is the pain and determination he holds in his eys through the movie. That's the only best thing apart from the spirit of the movie.
Its a very usual sports movie with the same kind of motivation which buds after a lengthy dialogue.Only one difference it makes is its done in a different back drop where Graphical content will not be used .I think the actors are really drilled to look as swimmers. The one main let down in the movie is it revolves around a very span of reach. It does not give it a big picture of the Pride when its regained.I am not convinced with the director's way of looking at the Finals which is not shown .But there is one defining moment in the Pride when one of Jims student Andre(Kevin Phlips) lifts the cup after the finals. This movie had some thing to say apart from all the lapses it had. That impressed me .Its the pain told on racial discrimination. Its so throbbing that you don’t have the opportunity to prove your skill which is made to earn the pride you desire for.

Movie had the right strength of mind but it did not record the same .That's why it looked tiny in the view,It took a different sport, different theme but it did all the same old things in a mediocre way training, motivation through one dialogue. It didn’t fail to tell you one thing"Some people never change" .I guess its true.
