Johnny Gaddar (2007)

Johnny Gaddar is a real good work by Sriram Raghavan and to start with it’s a fantastic thriller and there is a definite show of difference from Hindi movies. The movie starts off and ends with the same scene but it was cleverly shown in a non linear manner twice to drag the knot .
Johnny Gaddar is a fast paced thriller and inteleginetly made with relatively new actors in most of the role except Dharmendra .Vikram (Neil Nitin Mukesh ) ,Seshadri (Dharmendra),Prakash(Vinay Pathak) ,Shradul (Zakir Hussain ) ,Siva (Daya shetty ) all performing illicit deals plans for raising money to hand over to a Police officer.Vikram plans alternatively against the group in a secret manner to extort the money and flee away.Vikram grabs the money from Siva and murders him.Now the set up is between Money and the Group to find where it is.Vikram plays along the group till the climax to run away with the money to live with Shradul’s Wife Rimi Sen.

This movie is remarkable in many ways it does not carry any of the Bollywood formulas,it has item numbers but it was handled with the screen play.It does not have any stupid childish mistakes where the accused get caught usually, every mistakes Vikram makes is a clear - out cold mistakes which cant be avoided. Its really great to think beyond a boundary for investigation and Sriram Ragavan has done it.
Even some of the great thrillers of Indian cinema had missed showing intelligent clues in disclosing a plot. But Johnny Gaddar had lot to mention which laid base for a stylish crime plot.Firstly why the name Johnny Gaddar ,next Vikram reading the Chase’s books through out the movie, next is Dharmendra. He is in such an amazing period in his Early 70s I guess,Recently it was with Life in Metro and now in Johnny Gaddar,The character of Seshadri needed some body who is eloquent ,experienced and intelligent. The character is the God father of the team and many ,Its Dharmji who has done the magic stupendously. Its always a treat hearing his gusty voice with .Neil Mukesh grand son of Mukesh can not ask for a better debut and he has really laid himself for the character both in crime and adulterous relation with Rimi.

Infact when the movie started the romance started with some bold dialogues but I was surprised it lost in the half way .I would have had a difference in opinion about the movie if it had extended on the same mood. What makes the motivation for Vikram ends his note and the end is made in a stupendous mark .The cast around Vikram and his activities shows a dramatic feeling when the movie drags where one gets a feeling that the movie is revolving around a circle but every one understands that Johnny Gaddar is made to form a circle of action and reactions.
Off late I wasn’t impressed technically with the screenplay as a thriller in Hindi Movies but Johnny Gaddar was impressive in both technically and performance.Undoubtedly one of the most impressive movie of the year.

U should not b like 'madan' used to review d mve at the end, hence u r doing so. Also try to review diff. movies than usaual for eg., movies like irreversible or Coach carter rather than Goal.. etc..
