The Chronicles of Narnia : Prince Caspian (2008)

The Chronicles of Narnia is a good watch for many reasons. One among the reason is I am dried with movies which are releasing and failing to keep up the hype. This time I watched the movie with kids who are known to me and their excitement to watch the movie made me exciting as you feel you are a different customer of movie all together. Its been so long I watched movie with kids.

A year has passed as the Pevensie children unexpectedly left their beloved world of Narnia. They return back to the world of Narnians when 1300 years have passed in Narnian period.Meanwhile Prince Caspian escapes from his land because of a assassination plan to kill him by his uncle. the Pevensie siblings - Peter (William Moseley), Susan (Anna Popplewell), Edmund (Skandar Keynes) and Lucy (Georgie Henley) and Prince caspian and the whole Narnias fight against Prince’s Uncle to throne him as the King.

One thing the kids were biting the nails was the entry of Aslan ,I infact asked what are you expecting and they just spelt the name. The expectation of his arrival to the screen mounted as the movie was about to end.And he finally arrives with a bang and the kids yell in the theatre hall.It is made in such a way that the omnipresent Aslan reaches out for help only when its geniunely needed. This expectation has helped the movie a lot in its screenplay and the characterisation a lot for their eyes constantly waiting for him, which never makes to be a impatient stuff. This has made the viewers to realise the movie has come up in a long way with out the heroic stuffs of Aslan.

The movie amidst the beautiful locales, the dwarfs ,matured characters and the cute speaking animals lacks the pace and the grip which was available in the first part.Taking away the amusement the Narnians provide on screen the movie takes a dull route which is explicit in many scenes. The most famous bedtime story and comic lacks the vision it had in the first part. The battle scenes are O.K kind and I was well aware that I am not expecting a Ridley Scott battle field. One of the big letdown I experienced was the Villain King Miraz (Sergio Castellitto) .He was never scary nor he was fierce .He was dull and was giving a dramatic fell which I disliked in the movie.

But as a whole if you look at the movie ,it gave me a feel that I am not reading a comic book.As a kid it might be entertaining to see even the dwarf to see in the screen, but your expecatations might be different with the movie and this second version of Narnia did not disappoint me with its presentation.
