Aayutham Seivom (2008)


For three weeks in a row there wasn’t any big movies released after Dhasavatharam.May be the producers are waiting for Dhasavatharam result ,But the truth is more the movie is criticised more its bringing audience to the cinema halls.I can see crowds returning back with out tickets atleast in Chennai.I don’t want to review its fate now.Ayutham Seivom in Sundar C s second film in three months and he is turning about to be a minimum Guarantee hero nowadays.

Ayutham Seivom is a usual story of a Gangster Saithai Sathya(Sundar .C) who fights for his boss Annachi .For a petty case he and his friend Kandaswamy (Vivek ) are put in to Gandhi Museum as punishment to become discipline by the Judge .He meets Nasser who maintains Gandhi Museum in Madurai who happens to be a Gandhiji’s follower.Principles of Gandhi remains in Saithai Sathya but he is sure he would not follow it.After he comes back to Chennai he is been given with a assignment which fatally takes the life of Lawyer Udayamoorthy ( Vijayakumar) who is in search of evidence against Politician VRB in connection with a murder.After his death Sathya decides to go against VRB in Gandhigiri way.

This is one such Tamil version of Lage Raho Munnabhai in a confused and less interesting manner.I would not take it this is completely inspired but Director Udayan has redesigned for Tamil that’s it.Sundar C’s fourth consecutive movie as Gangster. I don’t know how the hell he chooses the role.Some body should seriously tell him about this.Usual fights, Usual comedy scenes for him.

Vivek is getting many many re-entries I don’t know when he is going to utilise it.Katrathu Tamil heroine Anjali as Sundar C’s lover,it looks horrible when looking at them as a pair.There is a big cast from Napoleon,Vijayakumar,Nasser,Manivannan every body has a role but not a impressive except Manivannan.Its good to see Manivannan as Villain again.

Gandhi’s principle were used for a such a idiotic purpose in the movie during the first half.Malavika song in Gandhi Museum and there was a justification.Such a crap thought I don’t know how it came in to the mind of Director.Second half was ok to take up the core values of Gandhi.But the comedy here is Sundar C goes in for a fasting to fight against the Villain in a Gandhian way ,and all of a sudden just for the need of a fight in the climax he stands up and shouts “ Just for ten minutes I will fight with you Guys to prove I am stronger than you “ .He brawls with them and he goes back to Fasting.Such a idiotic value less movie for you but still this will be a medium level hit,because there are four fights ,one item song,two duets and intelligent (?!!!) Vivek comedy in it for 2 ½ hours.Not to mention there was a special program about this movie in the Television today.

There used to be days when I used to watch a movie twice, thrice or even five times in a theatre. Every one growing up watching Rajini, Kamal would definitely agree; Aboorva sagotharargal, Batsha, Kadhalukku mariyathai or many to name it.  It may be completely not possible today with the schedule and the amount of new content which streams before you. Some movies bring nostalgic moments when they are telecasted today. For example, I usually have it with Bombay, I remember watching it atleast 30-40 times in theatres in and around Tirunelveli. I have rehashed some of Tamil movies which is available in Youtube today which you should watch it again.  These were some of the movies which gave huge inspirations to film makers, script writers or be it any one loves cinema like me. Test it , first 15 minutes of any these movies and I bet you will sure complete the whole movie. With Silambattam Simbu needs a hit badly and he does what he knows the best.Dance and Action. Silambattam is a out and out Tamil Masala movie shot in a village atmosphere.Incidentally the Tamil cinema is able to break the Friday lucky day to release this movie on Thursday. Silambattam is the same old Family revenge story. Anantha Thandavam -The original Pirivom Sandhippom

Below is the write up about a movie which I expect so much for this year.The story has been my personal favorite and is based on one of the best Tamil novel which I have read so far.I happened to read the novel Pirivom Santhippom during my college days ,which made me to think aloud about love.Written by Sujatha the story was initially published in Anantha Vikatan in early 80’s.The story of Pirivom Santhippom is of two series first in Tirunelveli second part in America.After eight years I am able to recall each and every characters of the work.This has nothing to do with my memory but with the beauty of the book.The main characters are “Ragupathi and Madumitha “.After reading the book I felt there can not be a sweeter name than Madumitha .Even the name of the particular character while reading the novel will make you feel for Ragupathy.
