Mummy: The tomb of the Dragon Emperor(2008)

How would you feel when you dedicate a Saturday evening in a multiplex experiencing one of the very badly made movie.I felt the same when I watched Mummy Tomb of the dragon empire at Satyam Cinemas. The movie released a week later in Chennai and I wish now it should nt have released.

I can clearly say the makers of Mummy have lost track and they wanted to recreate the magic in the same way and they have failed miserably. Mummy this time goes to China .Emperor Han Of china ( Jetli ) wants to become immortal to rule the world. But he is cursed by Zi Juan (Mischell Yeoh) for murdering her lover General Ming .Emperor is put into sleep for two thousand years by .Rick O Connell (Brendan Fraser)and Evelyn (Mario Bello) after retirement enter in to the mission of this Mummy :3 with their son Alex (Luke Ford) who has followed his parents. The Connell family fights against the emperor from being immortal.

The movie has released after seven years of its prequel Mummy and it has nothing to making enjoyable. The movie misses Rachel Weisz badly as Evie.Mario Bello is not a bad performer here but Rachel suited Brenden’s cranky dialogues in a perfect manner.Brenden looks helpless here one he has a very bad story line second his son Alex have grown up so he has to give a elderly performance.

Mummy series is a movie which is closely watched in India and it has become a big disappointment for the movie goers this time .Jet Li gave hopes in the initial tenminutes but his role has been made blunt and it becomes one of the worst movie for the Martial arts actor.I am still not convinced why this movie was produced and with what hopes they went out for shooting.

The scenes and locations looks expensive but with no reason it has been made and with in thirty minutes of the movie I had a big yawn and I couldn’t resist my sleep. The avalanche scene looks ok but for the movie is a bad choice for any type of viewers. There is Mummy 4 still to come from Peru.
