Kadhalil Vizhunthen (2008)

So enough of hearing Nakku Mukku in FM and in trailers ,its finally out in screen.The movie by surprise grabbed huge attention because of Chartbuster songs from Vijay Antony.The flicks are a quiet a rage in Tamil Nadu for quiet some time.Movie not being a usual stuff delivers some difference in the characters.


Sabha is a usual young guy with troubled memories of his family ,Meera meets Sabha from an accident which was unknowingly caused by her.Meera takes care of Sabha in the hospital.When he gets cure he immediately falls in love with Meera and so is Meera.Unexpected things happen for Sabha when he goes to Ooty for a football match.When he comes back he comes to know Meera is dead.But he never believes that she is dead.He carries her and runs from Cops and Meera’s family and lives in his own world with her.

Nakul ? Amazing is he the guy who acted in Boys,Well built and he dances well and he acts too.It has become a launch pad for the guy who was hiding for years after Boys.His character has lot to do in the movie apart from being a typical tamil movie hero who dances and romances he has to live in his own world to carry a corpus of his loved ones and react in a emotional manner which he has done it with clear understanding.The character Meera played by Sunaina should have been much more matured than being very very Kiddish.It goes unexplained why she stopped seeing him and reacts in a manner as no problem around them.She is shown as a different person in the first half and when she is speaking with Sabha as a dead body she is shown as a immature girl.

The movie gave a feeling of watching a Telugu movie like intervals of Songs ,Action and then romance and then again songs a little dose of sentiments.Tamil Cinema is not a different to this.This is a movie handled completely by freshers and it is indeed a heavy subject which deals with Psychic mindset of a love struck guy.It could have been handled sensibly and neat manner.If it was made with some level of intelligence we could have very easily come near Moodu Pani or Psycho.Here we have many questions of his behaviour like Why he turns to be a Killer though being justified for his love?

Vijay Antony has used this movie to experiment his skills,Personally I wasn’t so impressed with Nakku mukku.Un thalaimudi is a touching song .Director G.V.Prasad has given immense freedom for his team to get this in shape.

It had a good prelude but it failed in the screenplay.But it’s a bold subject which was lying in many minds for years.I wouldn’t say this is a must watch ,it’s a movie which had grabbed your attention already ,Don’t decide this on those hype.A average movie with good songs and different subject but handled badly due to lack of depth in behavioural patterns and interesting scenes.
