Poi Solla Porom (2008)

I was sick for the whole week and I had many back logs to clear off ,I started with Righteous Kill but the night show worsened my health.Poi Solla Porom was not a bad choice when I was back in track in the weekend.Poi solla Porom is second movie from Vijay who directed Kreedam.Frankly I didn’t like his first movie as it had many traces of typecast movie and obviously it had the heroism which was unavoidable when you have Ajith in the role.

Poi Solla porom is about the dream of a middle class father who wants to own a house for his sons.But his land which was registered in his name gets illegally occupied by a Gang.Nedu mudi Venu as Sathya Nathan who has scripted a good comeback to Tamil movies after a very long time.His son Uppili (Karthik ) doesn’t bond with his family and he wants to fly to U.S .He does every thing with a grim attitude and he never spells what is in his mind.He even moves with his girlfriend Amritha with a very sober mood always.When his dad gets in to trouble with Baby (Nasser) of he is still to make it clear to prioritise his family or Ambitions.But slowly his mind gets in to the minds of his family and he along with Asif (Booskey ) devices intelligent plot to get the money back from Nasser.

What is very impressive about this movie is its faithful remake of the original film Khosla ka Ghosla.So the period of Hindi film being remade to Tamil has arrived!!Vijay has maintained his momentum across the areas from dialogues,characters,and screenplay.His every visibility in the movie is because of the very impressive talent bunch of actors who has transformed in the screen.Nasser as Baby is a comic character after a very long time.We saw some characters in Oram Po this adds some precision and Nasser has done it with his skill.He shows how comical and also venomous.

I wasn’t able to understand the character of Karthik which was not clearly explained till the end and as a whole if you just look at this character it doesn’t fit with the mood for the genre of the movie.And Karthik has done it well but this is not the role for him I would say.His brother Om has given a very carefree and impressive performance.Mouli after a gap is back with a bang.I don’t know he is keen to be continous with movies but he is still the master of timing witty dialogues.

This is a neat movie without any hype and heroism.I can rate it as a clean entertainer for this two reasons and ofcourse for its humour through out the movie. Good Show by the team as a whole.
