The X Files (1998)

I remember watching X files when it came in Star Plus( It was actually in FOX channel where X Files started its series ) during the 90’s but I didn’t follow it as I wasn’t able to understand during that age.I wanted to watch X files when its sequel got released recently. This movie released in 1998 was expected much because of the hugely successful TV series X files .I am not a Sci Fi movies fan though I liked this concept of X Files.

X Files starts with a Bomb threat and when FBI Special Agents Mulder (David Duschovny) and Scully (Gillian Andesron),draw up their attention towards it ,they smell some thing seriously going on hidden from real world . A team is trying to cover up a virus so brutal, so fast and so unassailable that nothing can stop it extinguishing the human race. Mulder reaches the alien sources , and Scully with her medical expertise determines that effects of the Virus.Mulder’s Father’s friend gives some important information about the team which hides .Mulder and Scully reach out to the maze to fight against the Virus and the aliens.

Whats so good about the movie is that though being a hit TV series the movie was able to give the pure ingredients needed for a complete movie .It takes more time to give up a clue of whats happening ,the movie clearly utilises the time to giving up a image about the cover-ups and hides by the high profile society and the agents about the mission.What so ends up is a usual stuff but we can not complete rule out the things which happen in the middle about the mission.


Mulder and Scully enjoy this movie after becoming a household name they hunt with caution and hiding their emotions for this cause. They already know too much,and their lives are in danger ,they don’t share light moments ,they don’t crack jokes always serious and they get in to the problem very easily and help each other in the firstpart of the series.

gLobal conspiracy with extraterrestrial beings for the domination of the human race to colonize the earth is all fascinating but there is a serious crunch of details in the later half after we had spent some most of the time to know what is being hidden.We have been given with a solid movie but its less overwhelming as we find hard to follow the link between the cave dwellers 20000 years ago and Kids playing during the present day and the link in the bomb blasts.We find it crawls some where during this link.We don’t understand who is the evil here,Government or the Aliens ?

But still it’s a must watch for the people who never had opportunity to watch the TV series X files.I Will follow with the Sequel X files – I want to believe.
