Sarvam (2009)

I think this movie is meant for the breaking the hangover from NanKadavul for Arya.Because this has nothing else to offer for us.The costumes looks stylish from Anuvardhan and some usual romance in the firsthalf which entertains us and the amazingly intense camera of Neerav Shah.Vishnu Vardhan disappoints his return with Sarvam.

Movie has traces of inspiration from Hollywood flick 21 grams but it’s a Kollywood version all together.Karthik ( Arya )an architect falls in love with Dr. Sandhya ( Trisha ) and follows her persistently to get her acceptance. When Sandhya accepts his love , it doesn’t live long ,Sandhya dies in an accident.Chakravarthy a former football coach roams in search of Naushad and his kid Iman to take revenge for the death of his son who dies in an accident where Naushad is involved.Iman gets the heart of Sandhya through a heart transplantation and Karthik comes in for rescue of Iman from Chakravarthy.

Arya looks stunning after we had seen in the much spoken Naan Kadavul.Arya carries the first half with his comic romance and in the second half he doesn’t have much to offer but to run.Trisha has a very brief role.Chakravarthy in a much expected role goes as a psychopath killer who along with his dog Bruce spend their time in the movie by searching whereabouts of Iman. The movie as a whole is restricted to ten characters where we don’t see much of drama nor thrill to carry till the end.

Neerav shah has been maintaining his stylish camera work with Vishnuvardhan. His visuals speak for his work and its refreshing to watch Munnar and dark woods through his lens.If I had to speak about the music ,I have to literally abuse Yuvan Shankar raja for choosing his singers. The song “ siragugal vandhu “ is the most pathetically pronounced song in the entire Tamil cinema history.I can not digest the words “ “Ulugum “ when its spelt though it had a good tune.

Vishnu vardhan could have made this movie little more interesting with the chases as its restricted to very little characters and it has no edging sequences. The much expected character Bruce Dog also is just a publicity.Movie slows down in the second half and its predictable in major parts.I am disappointed with Sarvam.
