Nadodigal (2009)

It could not be a chance that Sasikumar acted in subramaniapuram though he was Director of the movie. If he would have taken a decision by not acting in that movie I can very clearly say that we would have not got Nadodigal as intense and as interesting as its now.Nadodigal is a welcome movie after a series of debacle in Tamil industry this year.

Nadodigal is about the three friends Karunakaran( Sasi Kumar ) ,Pandi ( Bharani ) Chandran ( Vijay ) .Director Samuthrakani teams up the three as similar we see in Subramaniapuram ,the three friends start towards Namakkal from Rajapalyam to rescue a love of Karuna’s friend who is the son of Ex M.P.In the mission Chandran’s leg gets amputed and Pandi loses his hearing ability and Karuna looses his granny. At one point of time the friends turn against the lovers when the realise some truth.

Samuthrakani knows what to deliver with Sasikumar and he gives a bang movie in style. We forget the time passed by when we watch the fast paced screenplay. The screenplay of the first one and a half hour is so tightly wound which makes us feel that it is happening for ten minutes.Samuthrakani has to be credited for this story line and reality which he has shown in this movie. The visual selections and characterisation makes credit to the skill of the director .

Now to sasikumar ,This man is indeed a hero material and he had carried with such a macho performance and maturity.Any slipped performance could have shown his character as a normal cinematic character but this story line is very intelligently held by the character of Karunakaran.Sasi kumar deserves and receives applause in the halls for his performances in the chasing scenes and particularly when he sends the lovers away from their parents.

One character which should be praised and commended should be the character of Bharani. This man is interesting, frightening ,funny and ofcourse he is amazing in the role of Bharani. He is a typical villager who brings the anger and wit in a natural manner ! Sundar C Babu has composed a very lengthy song “Sambo siva sambo” which brings the theme of the movie.

Nadodigal shouldn’t be compared with Subramaniapuram but it would be compared.Nadodigal brings the theme friendship in a very powerful and darker manner ,It’s a must watch and it easily becomes the best movie made this year .
