Aayutham Seivom (2008)

Image
For three weeks in a row there wasn’t any big movies released after Dhasavatharam.May be the producers are waiting for Dhasavatharam result ,But the truth is more the movie is criticised more its bringing audience to the cinema halls.I can see crowds returning back with out tickets atleast in Chennai.I don’t want to review its fate now.Ayutham Seivom in Sundar C s second film in three months and he is turning about to be a minimum Guarantee hero nowadays. Ayutham Seivom is a usual story of a Gangster Saithai Sathya(Sundar .C) who fights for his boss Annachi .For a petty case he and his friend Kandaswamy (Vivek ) are put in to Gandhi Museum as punishment to become discipline by the Judge .He meets Nasser who maintains Gandhi Museum in Madurai who happens to be a Gandhiji’s follower.Principles of Gandhi remains in Saithai Sathya but he is sure he would not follow it.After he comes back to Chennai he is been given with a assignment which fatally takes the life of Lawyer Udayamoorthy ( Vij...

The French Connection (1971)

Image
Nowadays I spend the weekends by attending marriages, and I hardly find some time for myself which was abundant for me previously.I am stealing time here and there to make it a life which gave me plenty of happiness. This weekend I decided to watch atleast three movies ended up as of now with two .French connection is one of the movie which was lying for months in my shelf unwatched. Classic thrillers never fades away and this one of the good racy movies which stands as an interesting movie even after nearly forty years.Jimmy Doyle (Gene Hackman) and Buddy Raso (Ray Sheinder ) runs behind a group of Narcotics gang. They are made to run with the transaction which happens between two gangs.Jimmy has the faith he is chasing the right rat and when they reach them it ends in a vague manner for him as one of the rat jumps from him. Gene Hackman in his mid thirties with his energy and serious locks puts forth a gusty performance. He creates the mood for the movie as I could see it could have bee...

One year of Blogging

Kudos to me...Its been a year of blogging for me and I slowly got inclined towards this and made it a hobby.I thank all my readers and my friends who read this blog occassionaly or regularly. It all started when I watched Sivaji on the first day and I wanted to share the joy of watching than reviewing the movie.Movie watching has always fascinated me and for many, some times I find crazy of watching the movie Bombay 35 times in theatres alone just for Manisha Koirala ( That can not be counted just for Movies J) .I have shared some memorable movie experience of watching movies in this blog.I trust many would have the same . Ashok's blog gave a huge inspiration to write blog on movies and ofcourse my brother Sivaram who had been my movie partner and we both share radical views on movies.I am Rajini Fan and he is a Kamal fan.Its been a year and I have almost viewed 2oo movies (some of the movies I had missed to review ).But I have been prompt in posting ,may it be from Madurai,Surat,M...

Dasavatharam (2008)

Image
Dasavatharam is out in the town and I watched it on the night before its release.Amidst Kamalhasan’s ten faces,80 crore budget,K.S Ravikumar there is some thing which is expected from Kamal to the audience like me .I wanted to be felt satisfied when I am out of the theatre, not by just watching Kamal .Kamal has scripted a milestone is his career obviously one more mile stone . The movie starts with 12th century Saivaites and Vainavaites fight for their God and the movie flies to US in 2004 .Govindh a microbiologist scientist who uncover a scam which has happened in trekking a Biological weapon .Govindh escapes with the weapon to India and he is been tracked by Fletcher a X CIA man.Now many stories happen around ,they all meet Govindh in a natural calamity which took place in 2004–Tsunami. There is Kamal all around in the movie ,you don’t have to say a new to world description to say that he is brilliant. His dedication towards each character is some thing which is above excellence. His bo...

Sarkar Raj (2008)

Image
Before going for the movie I was having the frustration of watching Sholay remake from RGV where I decided that he is not a stuff to be celeberated as a great director. He has made good movies with action and Mafia like Siva,Company,Sarkar . Sarkar was a story which was inspired from Godfather ,who can not have the inspiration from Cuppalo’s classic. But RGV wanted intentionally to differ from the orginal version and spelt loud this is one of the good made movie from him for some good performances and plot. Sarkar Subash Nagre ( Amitabh Bachan) retires and Shankar (Abishek ) takes over from him.Things are not the same as the regime of Sarkar.Shankar is aggressive and he is fast in all the actions which are taken.A company headed by Anitha (Aishwarya Rai ) and her father approaches Sarkar to set up a power plant in a village in Maharashtra ,Takirwadi.Sarkar opposes but Shankar gets the concurrence of his father and he goes with Anitha to educate the villagers about the project. He becomes...

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

Image
Atlast I made it to the show with my friend. My memories have faded away with the previous editions of Indiana Jones as I have watched it three years ago. I tried watching it again but couldn’t make it because of some constraints. This was one of the much talked ,hyped anticipated sequel and I am not fully expressive about the movie. Famous adventurer Henry Jones comes back to his adventurous ride when he gets becomes embroiled in a Russian plot to discover the secret of the mysterious crystal skulls which are believed to have extraterrestrial origins. The most dependable and charming actor of Harrison Ford is back ,but I can not say it was a bang because some how the first edition of any series becomes the benchmark .Kingdom of Crystal skull suffers from that comparison. For new viewers it becomes difficult to comprehend with modern day technically advanced treasure hunt movies like National treasure. But still Indiana Jones is at the top with the viewers. Harrison Ford still makes his...
